Hey IGC energizers! It’s a new year for new beginnings! If you’re here, it’s obvious you know everything is about energy, which starts with the inner you! This post may be a touchy one. It may irritate a few and resonate with many, either way it’s a hot topic for entrepreneurs! The concept is that “numbers don’t lie.” You’ve heard it in songs, on TV shows or movies, etc. But what does it mean for your social media likes, followers and what your brand represents? What numbers you may ask? The short answer is the numbers that matter to you in business! I’ve seen and heard so much about entrepreneurs’ level of support being based on their numbers in social media followers. At first, I was thinking; is this a prank?! Then I realized, wow, this is seriously an issue in the business world after partaking in several conversations and seeing professionals nearly depressed, compromising their standards, or losing focus over this topic. As always, we all can agree to disagree, but this is from what I’ve witnessed. There are quite a few ways to dissect this. So, I’ve listed 3 avenues to reason upon in concluding what’s best for you and your business.
On top of a few other factors such as: the time of day most popular for your posts, if it’s an image, topic of interest, popular hashtags, etc. There are more factors to consider but this is just a few. Side note: This is if you don’t buy followers to boast your account or brand name. Again, another case of different strokes for different folks! I’m sure there may be some professions where buying followers is necessary, but for those who don’t do that, this is catered to you.
In conclusion, try not to overthink this one. As it’s been said before with social media followers: “50% just watching, 30% hating and 20% supporting! AT ALL COST REMEMBER THAT!!! That’s why #1 is about how much do YOU believe in your brand and business?! Being an entrepreneur is by no means easy! But sooner or later you must adjust your thinking, even if you’re rolling in the big bucks! At the beginning, middle, and end of the day be totally invested in your brand. Be consistent across the board, and if you struggle with content, hire help! Focus on how you can get the clients to convert to being ready and maintain that! Don’t be fooled by the big talk, pro bono is real life behind a lot of people on social media that they don’t tell you! BUT be selective in that and have boundaries! Avoid buying followers, there’s great rewards for authenticity!!!! Be happy with what your number of followers are and do the work to grow them! Hey, I’m rocking with my 450 followers and will still grow in time! I realize there are a lot of business owners in my shoes, we’re not new to our profession just newbies to the entire social media wave or presence! That’s the part I’m beyond grateful for, over the years of ghostwriting I built my name by working hard and gaining the trust of my clients not based on social media or likes. Guess what? And I’m still learning! For the ones who get this, we’re all in this together! Until next time, love yourself, try something new, and appreciate your tribe!
